Tier II - Rock Star Update

MSGHL Membership.

We would like to inform you that we will only be rostering three Tier II teams, one at each age level (U14, U16, U19).  We will NOT be forming an additional "Tournament team" at any level during the 2012-2013 season.  We have reached this decision to focus just on the Tier II level and keeping the "Developmental" side of hockey with your home association.  So once again, the MSGHL Rock Stars will only roster Tier II teams.

Conditioning Camp and Tryout registration deadline is June 1st, 2012

Conditioning camp is open to all MSGHL players who desire to train at a higher level.

Tryouts are open to all MSGHL (Non-Tier) players who desire to play Tier II hockey for the Rock Stars!

All information is posted at www.msghl.net

MSGHL Spring Meeting

MSGHL spring meeting time is rapidly approaching here’s the details.

WHEN: Saturday May 19th 10:00 A.M.

WHERE: Vail Colorado - Vail Town Council Chambers - 75 South Frontage road

Exit I-70 at the Main Vail exit (#176) and go west on South Frontage Road for a short distance. Take the first right into the municipal building parking lot. (NOT the very first right, which is normally gated, as it is the police station.)

WHAT:

A few of the things that will be discussed:

  • Possible tournament format
  • Scheduling matrix
  • Rosters/Pointstreak

This is the starting point and I would expect a few more things to be added. If lodging is needed The Evergreen Lodge is a great choice walking distance from the meeting location and they have been a great partner for the MSGHL. Give  Coco at 970-476-7810 a call and she can help you out. Remember this is one of two mandatory meetings for associations participating within the MSGHL so at least one person from every association is expected.

MSGHL Board Openings
Both the Vice President and Communications Director positions will be opening up this year and therefore will need to be filled. Please consider volunteering for either of these positions.

If you have any questions, comments or agenda items feel free to pass them on to Bobby Yeager This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and we will get the answered or added to the agenda.

Tier II Season Ends

Hi all,

Well it seems that the train ride is now over for the 2011 - 2012 season. The "last dance" was not as we wish it would of been but a very successful season still. Both the U14 and U16 team advanced to Nationals by play-off which was a huge accomplishment in its self.

Both teams were among the best of 12 at the Tier II National Level at each age group - Way to go girls

That being said - we still have a long way to go with the MSGHL Tier II Program - The Rock Stars!

We are currently reviewing this season and wanting to improve upon our work this season to insure a better season and the continued growth of our program. Please feel free to send me your comments concerning the season - Good & Bad

Up next

It is very important that you remember that our

MSGHL Tryouts for the Rock Star Tier II and Development Team
June 22nd - 24th at The Dobson Ice Arena in Vail CO
Registration Deadline: June 1st, 2012

The MSGHL is pleased to hold Tryouts for the Tier II Program within the MSGHL for the 2012-2013 season in Vail at the Dobson Ice Arena on June 22nd - 24th, 2012. The MSGHL Rock Stars are planning on rostering a U14, U16 and U19 this coming season in the Tier II Level and a U14, U16 and U19 Tournament team/Development team to the Tier II teams. With the success of the Rock Stars in the 2011-2012 season we believe that our tryout numbers will allow us to form both teams at each age level.  The non Tier teams will be filled with very quality skaters and give an opportunity for those who did not make the Tier II team a place to developed with other higher level skaters and compete in at least two tournaments during the 2012-2013 season as a Rock Star.  Developmental teams will only be rostered if we have enough willing and able players.

Who can tryout for the MSGHL Rock Stars Teams?

Any girl from within the MSGHL (non tier team) will be eligible to try-out for these teams.
A player on these tier teams will not only be a high level ability player but also needs to bring a good attitude, a strong hockey desire and a willingness to be a team player. Players will be asked to make a 100% commitment to this Tier team. In addition, a 100% commitment to their MSGHL team will be required.
